Q1: Hi Eason, do tell us a bit more about yourself.

hi! i’m a graphic designer from taiwan 🇹🇼. i’ve loved watching japanese anime since i was little, which inspired me to start drawing when i was around 12 years old. i’ve also been deeply influenced by western culture and have always been fascinated by european architecture. in 2024, i went to barcelona to pursue the second master’s degree in visual design at elisava. for now i’ve just finished my dual master’s program and hoping to find a full-time job in europe🤞🏻

Q2: Would love to hear more about this artistic collaboration that you did with Paper, please do share more.

when paper first reached out to me, i was in downtown seoul during a layover. i checked out paper’s work and website and thought “wait hold on why would someone with such mature cool work and branding contact me?!” afterwards as we continued our discussions, i really got to see paper’s professionalism, and honestly i learned a lot from this collaboration ❤️‍🔥

Q3: Now, motivations and artistic journey:- what led or inspired you to do what you do today.

i’ve actually been hugely inspired by japanese anime and design culture. i mean taiwan is really close to japan geographically. at first i just loved drawing anime characters, but later i started noticing all these super cool graphic designs and packaging from creative markets and social media, that made me want to try creating something myself. so i started learning and eventually stepped into the field of graphic design. but tbh, it all comes down to one simple thing — i’m just deeply attracted to cool and beautiful things, and i want to create them myself. it might sound like a silly reason, but that’s really what shaped who i am today.

Q4: You have inevitably a unique style - defined by the words 'creative coder'! What do they mean and do. share with us more about this interesting approach to visual graphics.

i wouldn’t really call myself a creative coder yet, since i just started learning and tbh i mostly copy and paste code 😍. but the reason i got into creative coding was kind of like what i mentioned earlier, that i saw a super cool digital visual from social media, then i looked it up, i found out it was made with a program called processing (which i had no idea about at the time 😍). that got me curious, so i started looking into it, took a few related courses, and began self-learning. i actually really enjoy the mix of frustration and satisfaction that comes with coding, that feeling when something finally works😭. what i love even more is combining those coding visuals with editorial design. for example my astro boy zine project from elisava is one of the best examples of how much i enjoyed that creative process.

Q5: Do you see any relation between your artistic journey and the theme of fashion?

actually i had never done any fashion-related design before collaborating with paper, i only started getting interested in the fashion industry about two years ago (which is kinda late i know🤡). so i’d say i’m just starting to explore it now and i really hope that my future works can have more connections with fashion as a theme.

Q6: Where do you envision yourself in the coming years as an aspiring artist, or even so in your personal endeavours?

for now my goal would be to find a stable job in europe. after spending a year in barcelona, i realized that i really prefer the lifestyle and working environment there (designers are treated much better compared to asia). i hope i can find a place where i can truly express my creativity. as for my personal works, i’ve been exploring my own style over the past few years, and honestly i’m still not sure if i’ve developed my own distinct style yet, but i’m still trying to figure that out. oh and recently i got a bichon frise named spezi, he loves biting me all the time 😡 i really hope he grows up soon to stop biting.

Q7: What are your thoughts on collaborations, especially in the digital space?

i don’t have much experience with collaborations yet, especially in the digital field. i started to understand it more after knowing and working with paper. i do believe that collaboration between creatives always leads to a lot of mutual learning, whether it’s gaining design experience or getting more exposure.

Q8: Congrats on being a brand ambassador! Would love to hear more on how that inspires you creatively and how you feel it can bring you forward, personally and for [ze Luna].

i’m really excited about this ❤️‍🔥 when i first came across [ze luna], i was honestly amazed, it’s not just about fashion, but also blends 3d, ai, and so many other design fields. those are exactly the kinds of things that inspire me deeply. i’m really looking forward to witnessing [ze luna]’s growth and transformation!

Q9: Closing statement to the audience!

thank you paper for reaching me out in the first place! i can’t wait to see what kind of sparks we can create together!
